WHAT A FUN WEEKEND.............................
My Niece Jessica got married early in January. They had planned to wait until March 4, but she didn't have any insurance and needed diabetic supplies. So they got married so that she would have the necessary insurance coverage and waited until this weekend to have their reception.
My parents and sister, and my brother and his family all came over on Friday. We all pitched in about 10.00 per family and bought Chinese take out. Wow did we have food. It was so good. I think that when we get together like this in the future that we'll do this instead of fixing a big meal together. It is alot easier. We had the reception on Saturday. She works at a pizza place here in town, so she had made arrangements to use one of the banquet rooms for the reception. Her wedding dress was a Oriental Style dress that they had actually ordered from the Orient so their decorations were Oriental parasols, hats, fans, etc. It was so cute. There was alot of pictures taken, alot of pizza eaten and alot of fun for everyone. I think that the poor grooms family were just a little overwhelmed by this loud crazy bunch of ours.
That evening mom, dad and my sister and her 2 little ones came out and we just visited. We were all to full from pizza and salad to even want to think about eating.
My sisters kids are some of the cutest that I have ever seen. The little girl is 5 and smart and precocious. She loves her mommy and grandma and grandpa. At one point she was up on grandpas lap and he was reading nursery rhymes to her out of a book that we have here. It was so fun. If there were any of the rhymes that had been set to music then we would sing them to her. The baby is a boy, he will be 5 months old in just a few days. He is one of the cutest little guys that I have ever seen. He has a really round face and head, and he smiles and laughs, and coos at you constantly. Even when he is tired he really doesn't fuss much. I hope that we didn't spoil him to bad this weekend. He was constantly being held and passed around from family member to family member. After this he is going to want to be held all of the time.
After a weekend like this it is so hard to let them all go. I hate being this far from our families, but I wouldn't trade living here and the experiences that we have all had for anything in the world.
