WOW!

This past couple of weeks have been crazy. I feel like I have been running in high gear for decades.
It has only been 2 weeks. Emily's 2 friend had their birthdays on the 8th so I went to a movie and to lunch then just out running around with the kids. Then this week Em celebrated her 18th birhtday on the 16th. I again ran around like a chicken with it's head cut off! Monday, Tuesday, Wendsday and Thursday. All 4 days.

Friday I just wanted to sit in my rocking chair and do nothing. Easier said than done! Em has had a cough for about 6 weeks. Just a cough. No fever, no soar throat, just a little nausea but that is not unusual for her. Yesterday the fever hit, so I took her up to the ER at St Lukes. She had the beginnings of Pneumonia. Great! Thank goodness It was just starting and not a full blown case of it. So the doc perscribed a tussin syrup, YUK, and an antibiotic. She slept most of the day today which was a really good thing.

I had to fix a meal to take to a young couple in the ward that just had a baby. So I spent the afternoon cooking. There again, no rest for the weary. I am kind of glad that Em isn't able to go out for a few days I have an excuse not to go to church. I AM POOPED!

WITH ALL OF THE RAIN THAT WE HAVE HAD...

My flowers around the yard have been incredibly beautiful. I wish that you could see them.
I have had purple and white Irises, Pink Sweet Williams, I have a Syringa that has the prettiest white blossoms and they have the sweetest scent that any one could ever possibly imagine.
We have a really pretty purple Clemetis, A red rose and a yellow and pink Peace rose, as well as a couple others. Eventually I want to fill the flower bed in the front yard with all kinds of roses.
I am hoping to put a new rose or two in every spring of different varieties. Most of the flowers that we have here are spring varieties. The Syringa only lasts a couple of weeks, The Clemetis usually lasts about a month, The Sweet Williams appear to only last about a month. Eventually I would like this yard to look like pictures that you see of English Gardens. I want flowers everywhere. Have you ever seen a Giant Hibiscus? I have to get me one of those! My crazy neighbor had some in her front yard, as I recall she had 3 different colors of Hibiscus. She had someone dig them up for her last year. She decided that she didn't like them any more. The blossom is about the size of a Dinner Plate. They are incredible.

FAMILY.....................................................

I have had alot of fun this last couple of weeks. My Cousin and I have decided to try to pull together a Ritchie family reunion for the end of July. This is our fathers family. Our grandparents both passed away in the early 90's and we haven't gotten together as a family since. I have called family all over the country talking to relatives and thoroughly enjoyed getting reacquainted.

I had other things to call cousins about on my mom's side of the family and in talking to cousins on that side we have decided to have a reunion in July next year for the Lindholms. I am looking forward to that one also.

I have spent alot of time with Em this week. She is out of school for the summer and is planning to start babysitting for a friend later this month. We have also spent Phillips days off just playing. I love my kids and love the time that we have together.
