SATELLITE PHOTOGRAPHY

HERE IS AN ARIAL VIEW OF MY HOUSE. # 394. THAT IS IF YOU CAN READ THE WRITING, IT IS SO SMALL. THE HOUSE NEXT TO US ON YOUR LEFT SIDE IS OWNED BY A NUTSO LADY THAT HAS CATS. HER HOUSE SMELLS SO BAD YOU CAN'T STAND TO GO INSIDE.

AS A MATTER OF FACT, WHEN THE WEATHER IS WARM, DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS YOU DON'T WANT TO BE OUT ON THE WEST SIDE OF OUR HOUSE BECAUSE YOU CAN SMELL HER HOUSE FROM OUR YARD!

HATS

We've all been involved in discussions about the "HATS' that we wear every day. I just want to share a couple of Pictures of my wonderful husband and the different hats that he wears on the job ......

This is Captain Uh-oh, the cute kid is LilJSM'S son

This is Buster the Fire Dog and Me at a Steelhead's hockey game last Spring.

........He works for the Boise Fire Dept and has several different "Hats" that he wears in his job. These are the two that he is especially fond of.

THANKSGIVING

Wow What a day. I was up at 8:30 am and cooking up a storm. I had the kitchen TV on while I was cooking so that I could see at least some of the
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. LilJSM asked me to take pic's of our day. I believe his exact wordage was Mom take alot of Pictures of your thanksgiving and email them to me. So I did. I got Pic's of the parade on the wide screen, pic's of almost every dish that I made, pic's of the pets, and pic's of us.

Phillips girlfriend Charley spent the day with us and had dinner with us. After dinner I sat down in my rocking chair and crashed. I was beat.

We had Turkey, cranberry sauce, salad, frog eye salad, potatos and gravy, dinner rolls, stuffing that I forgot about and left on the stove
so we had alot of stuffing left over, pumpkin pie and apple crisp.

I had bought a 19 pound turkey early because I was expecting alot of people to come over from Eastern Idaho for Thanksgiving. However between the time that I bought it and Thanksgiving day, everyone decided that they couldn't come. Great what to do now. Cook it and put some away in the freezer. TO BAD YOU WEREN'T ABLE TO BE HERE. I AM A GOOD COOK AND THE DINNER WAS REALLY GREAT!

NO SWING NIGHT

We didn't end up having Swing Club last night. I was afraid that since it was the day before Thanksgiving that no one would show. I just wanted to give the kids home from school a chance if they wanted to come.

Really I was relieved. Shane & I had been out and about most of the day and I was ready to be home

SWING NIGHT

Just over a year ago Phillip, Em, Taylor a friend, and some of the other friends started a Swing Dance Club. They had been going on Wednesday nights to a local club, the Boise Cafe, and attending a swing club sponsored by the Boise State Univ.
swing dancers. The Club probably isnt any bigger than my bedroom so they had to stop having the club there because they couldn't accomodate the people attending.

They asked the Bishop if we could meet on Wednesday nights at 9:00pm at the church to dance. They made the proper arrangements to get the building on Wednesday nights and we met every Wednesday night for almost a year. The kids nick named me Swingmama. Taylor is a really good artist and he drew up some designs and had them put on a t-shirt for me for Christmas last year. I even had one of the local TV stations send a man out to do a piece on these kids. Channel 2 does this segment about 3 times a week called what a great state. Paul the news man and a camera man came out and did this piece. What fun.

MONDAY NIGHT

My sister Julie and her daughter Jessica showed up here tonight. We always enjoy our visits when we are together. For those of you who do not know her she has just this last year learned how to do Permenant Makeup. She Tatoo's Eyebrows, Eyeliner and Lips. I had her do my eyeliner a few months ago. It is an interesting experience. We need to go over it again because you have to do it twice before all of the pigment will take and she discovered that she hadn't been setting the needle to go deep enough to make the dye take. I am so proud of her. She has 7 appointments set up for this weekend. Plus a couple of appointments set up here a few days after that. Way to go Jul

NEW PASS TIME

In the last 3 years I have made either 12 or 13 Afghans for different members of my family. I need to get pics that I can post for you to see.

a few weeks ago Emily and I were watching a TV movie and the main actress toward the end of the movie was wearing a really cute crocheted hat with a crocheted flower on it. Em mentioned that she would really like to have a hat like that. I told her I would see If I could find any patterns on the internet. Wow did I find Patterns.

I have made 3 or 4 hats for her and 1 for my niece. Em looks so cute in hats so I am loving being able to create these out of scraps that I have left from the afghans.
they only take about 3 hours to make up. That is a lot faster than an afghan

I also did one for her former boyfriend. He attends BSU here in Boise so we did it BSU colors.

I'll add a pic of Em's hat when I can. I am rather computer stupid and can't figure out how to upload and add pics to this site. In the mean time a friend is helping me by letting me forward pics to him and then he sends me the proper codes to be able to load them here.

HOME COMPUTERS

I got this picture from a friend the other day. How would you like this Home PC In
your living room....

Aunt Margaret

I called Toddimer's Aunt Margaret Yesterday. I met her the night of Amber's Wedding
recepdtion here in Boise. I didn't want to call her when I was afraid that I would get emotional while talking to her and break down. She told me that Todd was killed a year ago on the 17th of November. She doesn't know where the family buried him. We had a really nice visit. I hope to keep in better touch with her in the future.

Surprise

Well Mr A. How do you like that for justice?
Another great picture that I received in my email

THANKSGIVING WEEK

Looks like it's going to be a busy week. I can't believe that Thanksgiving is just 4 days away! I had hoped that some of my family was going to be here from IF but they can't be here. Our oldest will be in Seattle on the ship and so that leaves just 4 of us. I am so disappointed that no one can come over. That's ok there will be other holidays that we can be together.

A NOT SO GOOD SATURDAY

I was home alone today. Shane was in a class all day learning about Fire
Investigations, Em had a choir festival at BSU today, and then she and a friend went to the movies, and Phillip had to work. I was kind of grateful for the peace and quiet as I had a KILLER MIGRAINE. So I did nothing but relax and try go get rid of it. Unfortunately not feeling good, being tired after our trip to Pocatello and back, and watching a movie that deals with the death of a loved one, I was kind of in a deep blue funk.

Losing a friend is tough, I have lost several of them the last few years since moving to Boise, but losing Todd well that has been kind of different. He really didn't like life, his life in particular. He felt as though he had been dealt all of the bad cards that could possibly be dealt. He hated the Thanksgiving and Christmas season because that was the time of year that his mother had passed and his daughter had gotten married, besides the fact that he felt as though his kids had forgotten that he even existed most of the time, especially at Christmas time.

I really couldn't be upset at learning of his death, because he didn't like life. He is where he should be. Betty Jean, his mom is with him. and he is free of his earthly problems. My tears have been few because I know that he is happy where he is.

How to describe how I feel. Yes upset, some, sad at the void that is left knowing that I won't see him until after the time that I pass on. Hurt that there was no way of knowing and that I have no idea where he is buried.
Grateful for the friendship, and rejoicing that he is in a better place. Grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the knowledge that there is more after this life and that I will see my son and others that have gone before like Todd.

CHOIR TRIP DAY 2

6:30 am came awfully early thismorning. I got up and showered, and let Lanelle sleep for just a little while longer. I don't sleep very good anyway
when I am away from home. I got ready and went down to the restaurant for some breakfast with Kat, Em's best friend. When we were done we took breakfast down to Em, and I started getting suitcases etc. out to the bus. We were all supposed to be on the bus and ready to go by 7:45 am.
It didn't happen. We were about 10 minutes late. We drove over to
Pocatello High School. The Pocatello choir kids and our girls sang songs for each other and our girls were able to warm up there. When we got there the mixed jazz choir was doing a zero hour practice. They had to go to class within about 15 minutes after we got there. About 45 minutes later the girls Treble choir came in and each choir again did an exchange.
They did a song together that both choirs are working on for their seperate Christmas concerts. I believe that the song is the Candlelight Lullaby. After losing our first child at Christmas time 23 years ago, I still have a tough time sometimes hearing certain Christmas songs, that song is one of them. I couldn't contain my tears. I felt so silly sitting there sobbing. Murial one of the other moms looked really puzzled when she saw me crying, so I told her what was going on.

After finishing up at Pocatello High we drove out to the Century High School. This school is way out South of town. It is a huge school and very
modern looking.

They were just finishing up with the mornig session of the festival when we got there, so alot of kids were leaving as we were coming in. There were 3 other schools that performed before our girls. They were pretty good. The first group was a Jr High Choir. WOW! By the time these girls get to High School they are going to be incredible, if they have choir instructors that are as good as the one that they have now.

Our girls sang three songs. They sounded so great. I would list the names of the songs but I can't remember the first 2. The last one is
"Oh Susanna" it is one of the cutest arrangements of that song that I have ever heard. When we finished at the school we stopped just below Ross Park and had a couple of group pictures taken. After that we drove across town to the Golden Coral to get some lunch. One of the girls ran into the restaurant to let them know that we had a group of about 40 for lunch, which of course was not a problem. In letting them know that we were coming in for lunch. The wait staff let the girls know that the Arizona State Football team was also coming in to have lunch. Oh Boy were our girls jazzed about that. The Football team was late getting there so most of our girls were done eating and back out at the bus by the time that they got there.

Lanelle one of the other moms had a friend come and visit her while we were waiting for the bus to leave. Come to find out her friend was also a friend of mine. Katie worked at Roberts crafts when I started there. She was the one that taught me about Balloons and tying ribbons. I was so excited to see her. She told me that she had just got married a couple of weeks earlier and that Lanelle was the pastor that had married her and her husband. I was so pleased to see her.

The bus trip home was pretty quiet. Alot of us were sleeping, including me. That is unusual, I can't usually sleep on a drive anywhere. However being in a charter bus makes one feel quite a bit more secure than just riding in a car. We got home at about 6:30 pm. It was really nice to get home.

CHOIR TRIP FIRST DAY

November 12 and 13, I went as a chaparone for the Eagle High School Treble Choir, on a trip to Pocatello, ID. They were invited to participate in a Choir Festival at Century High School on the 13th.

Poor Mr McMullen was the only Male, besides the bus driver, surrounded by 35 females. The trip was relatively uneventful until we stopped for a potty break at a small convience store near Albion. They had a hamburger joint inside of the store and these girls went crazy ordering food. Now mind you. We had all taken food to eat on the bus so that we wouldn't have to make a special stop along the way. The girls had all had
chips and other goodies to eat while traveling and they still ordered food.
Seth, Mr Mc Mullen, couldn't believe that these girls could put so much food away.

Our first stop in Pocatello was at the Idaho State University, music building. Dr Lawlor a professor there worked with the girls on their techniques for about an hour. We left there and went to our hotel. We stayed at what is now the Red Lion. It is a very nice hotel just as you are coming into Pocatello on the East side of the interstate.

Shane and I stayed there on the first night of our honeymoon, and we took the kids to Pocatello for one of our anniversaries and spent the night and played all day the next day.

Before getting off of the bus Seth cautioned the girls to stay close to a buddy. Not to go off anywhere by themselves, and if they were going somewhere to eat to have one of the 3 chaparones go with them.

We got checked in and went our different directions for dinner. Most of us went over to Perkins just kitty cornered from the hotel, one group went over to the Subway sandwich shop, and a few of the girls stayed at the hotel. After dinner some of the girls wanted to swim so we let them go ahead and we had one of the chaparones with them while they did so.
I had to go back to my room for a minute and some of the girls were talking to Seth telling him that there had been a man at the door of their room giving them a bad time. I didn't hear much of the conversation. A little while later I was walking with Em down to the restaurant in the hotel and Tina, one of the girls, stopped us and told us that a man had been harrasing Megan another of the girls. He had actually grabbed her arm and was trying to get her to go up to his room. Thank goodness he didn't actually try to force her. He made the mistake of telling her his room number. Murial Stocking, one of the other moms let the front desk know what had happened and they swiftly delt with the man. I am not sure how but they were very adament about the fact that he had been delt with.

We had a meeting around 10:30 pm and talked about events to come on friday and again went over with the girls the importance of sticking together, especially in light of what had just transpired. Murial, Lanelle, and I, the chaparones, stayed out in the hall outside of the rooms and talked until about 12:15 am. We were pretty sure that the girls had settled down for the night. So we were finally able to get some sleep ourselves.

TODDIMER

Last night we had dance practice again. To make a long explaination and story short. I was talking to a man that I knew was associated with a good friend of ours. Todd. Brother Tingy told me that Todd had been killed in a trucking accident a year or so ago. I had wondered why we hadn't heard from him in so long. But at the same time that is how our friendship had been forever. We wouldn't see or hear from each other for several years then he would show up or call and we would take up right where we had left off.

Well time to get ready for church.

LATER IN THE DAY
I got acquainted with Todd the summer after I graduated from High School. Summer 1974. I was dating a young man named Dean, he and Todd worked together. Dean was preparing for a mission that summer and fall while we were dating. Just before Dean left for his mission he told Todd to keep and eye on me not for me. Just about as soon as Dean left Todd was right there trying to get me to date. Well #1 I had just sent a boyfriend off on a mission and #2 Todd is really a great guy but he is one of the most negative people that I have ever met. He really would have driven me nuts had I ever taken up with him. He was always depressed, and feeling like the world was picking on him. Well not always, when he was in a good mood which was alot of the time, he was one of the funniest people that I have ever known, and alot of fun to be with.
It was just that he would get in these deep blue funks, and whoa, how depressing he could be.

Todd spent alot of time out at my parents home after Dean left on his mission. He and my youngest brother James were really good buds. James was all of about 3 at the time. Todd made up nick names for almost everyone that he knew. I don't think he ever gave me one though. My baby sister Janece was Poogit baby, my neice was McGillacutty, he had silly names for all of his kids etc. I always called him Toddimer.

In June of 1976 I took off with my Aunt and Uncle and went back to Virginia to live for a while
the Todd thing and the Dean thing were both driving me crazy by this time. Todd was always around and my family and Deans family were always referring to us as FIENCE'S! We weren't.
The only agreement between us was we'll see what happens in 2 years.

Shortly after I left Todd started dating a beautiful young lady that had moved to Idaho Falls shortly before I left named Kristy. They got married sometime while I was gone. I didn't hear much from him over the next few years. I sent them a wedding announcement when Shane and I got married. He tried several times on our wedding day to call me and I wasn't around. He wanted to surprise me but he finally told mom just to have me call when I got home from the
reception. So I did. We laughed and we cried, that was one of the awsome things about our friendship. We both could laugh and cry together and not feel enbarrased. He was just like a brother to me. That was the only way that I could love him, despite the fact that he wanted so badly for it to be otherwise at one time.

Just a couple of months after we got married Shane and I stopped at an office supply store in Idaho Falls. As Shane was coming around the car to let me out I turned and looked at the driver of the car next to us and Todd stuck his tongue out at m, that is typical of a greeting from him,
so I stuck my tongue out at him. He and his dad then drove off. No hello, no go to He--! Just
drove off. Boy did Shane let me have it. "Is that any way to greet a friend"? he said. All I could say was, "He Started It"!

We didn't see him for another few years. Probably another 9 or 10 years. Janece, my little sister would often say that she would like to meet the guy that nick named her Poogit Baby. We always called her either that or poogy for short. So for her 16th birthday I contacted them and invited them up from Utah, If they could get away, to attend the birthday party that we had for
her. Her birthday is on December 19th so it is kind of close to Christmas and they didn't know if they would be able to come up to Idaho or not. They did show up and we had a really fun night.

That was the last time that we saw him for another 4 or 5 years. Then out of the blue he called us on a Super Bowl Sunday so we invited him out to watch the game with us. By this time he and Kristy were divorced and he had been living in Gold Beach, Oregon. He was just in Idaho Falls for a month and wanted to see us. Needless to say Todd and I didn't get much football watched. We had alot of catching up to do. He ended up staying in IF for about a year. While he was there he married Maureen ? I can't remember her last name. They ended up moving up to the Coeur d'Alene area, I believe it was, and I didn't see him again for a while.

Then the Christmas after we moved into this house, he called to let us know that Amber his oldest daughter was marrying a boy from here in Boise. They mailed us an invitation and we attended the open house here. I ended up sending Shane and the kids home and I stayed at the reception with Todd and his family then Todd brought me home when it was all over with. That was the last time that I saw him. We kept in touch for the next couple of years through emails and phone calls, then everything stopped. I haven't even heard from his dad since. For all I know he is gone also. I don't know what happened for sure, where he died or where he is buried. I will miss his sillyness and his laugh, and so much more about this special friend.

OUR WEEK WITH MATTHEW

Our oldest Matthew came home for a visit on Tuesday this week. He was here until yesterday.
We really didn't do much while he was here, we just enjoyed each others company.
He and I and Emily went out to the mall and Best Buy one day. Dad Em, Matthew and I went
out to the mall again on Friday. Dad wanted to get some ideas of what to get for people for christmas, that was kind of a bust we came away just as knowledgable as we were when we got there! The whole family, this time including Phillip, Phillip's friend Andrea, Jessica my neice, and Ems friend Kat all went to see I ROBOT, with Will Smith. I really like that kind of movie so
we really enjoyed ourselves. Yesterday before Matthew left to go home we took him and Emily
out to IHOP for breakfast.
