BUSY WEEK
This last week has been a pretty good week. It seems like I've been really busy but I can't seem to remember what I've done. I gusee it is just because this few nights we've had something to do every night. Thursday night was the Eagle High School Choral Union's first
concert of the year. Did I say a week ago that Mr McMullen is a great Teacher? Well he is!
Even the Freshman girls sounded terrific. I wish that I could share this concert with everyone that I know because these kids are good.
Friday night, Shane and I have been asked to help with a dance festival for the youth in the ward. Tonight was actually the second practice for the adults to learn so that we can go back to the wards and teach it to the kids. This is the first practice that we have been able to be to. What a hoot. Shane has never taken any dance classes so he only knows the few things that I and the kids have tried to teach him. He does ok though. We stopped at Wendy's on the way home and bought a hanburger and a salad for each of us, then came home and ate. Em was baby sitting and phillip was out with a freiend for the evening.
Saturday night we had another dance practice. Shane and I might get it together soon. We
didn't do to bad this time. Afterward we had to stop at Fred Meyer and pick up a few things.
I found a dvd copy of the 1951 classic, The Day The Earth Stood Still, Shane has talked
about this movie most of the 23 years that we have been married. So needless to say we came home and had a bite to eat while we were watching an Alien for outer space trying to help stupid
humans to keep from getting obliterated. Em had gone to a hocky game, and to dinner with Brandon her beau, they got home shortly after we did so we all including phillip watched the movie and then Em, Brandon and I jsut sat and talked until about 1:00 AM. At about 4:30 AM thismorning, I woke up with a nasty headache. I finally got up about 6:00 AM and took some Advil migraine. That didn't help. I didn't go to church because I felt so horrible. I tried drinking
a diet cola with caffeine, that didn't help. I slept until noon and still felt bad. So I took a couple of Bayer extra strength. By about 2:00PM I finally was feeling better.
I started a kind fo new hobby this week. Em just loves hats and she looks so cute in them. We watched a movie last Sunday night on TV and the leading lady, toward the end, was wearing a crocheted hat. Em just fell in love with it, so I started looking for croched hat patterns on the net. I cant believe how many hat patterns are out there for free! Wow! I found one that I really liked and she did too. It looked alot like the hat that the girl was wearing in the movie also. After several failed attempts, I didn't care for the original pattern so I kind of changed things as I went along. After making 4 hats now and writing down all of the changes, I have actually come up with a really cute hat. For Em's hats, one pink and one blue, I have also crochet great big floppy flowers to wear on the side. They are so cute. I really need to get a picture of them.

I haven't updated for a while. I have been busy this last few days again, trying to contact extended family about family history. I am so close to having all of the family updated on my mothers family that It is almost scarry. I wish that it was that close on my dad's side of the family. Emily recently had strep throat. She was out of school for a week and made an early morning visit to the Emergency room also. This last week has been really weird for me. I have been really tired and in a really deep blue funk. That really isn't unusual...I didn't do any thing around the house and until today showed it.
Yesterday and today have been good days. I got alot of house work done. Emily had a Jazz Choir retreat yesterday and today. They had a man from Seattle, WA come to Eagle High School to work with the kids on their musical skills. What I saw of him I was really impressed. He was able to really bring out the best in the kids. They had a concert for the families of the kids at the end of the workshop today. They are an awesome group of kids, a very talented group.
A couple in our ward is going on a mission in a few weeks, so they had a going away party for them at the home of another of the families. Shane and I went to visit with them for a little while because we have become good friends with the couple in the past few months.

Date Night
Tonight was a fun night. We haven't done much "dating" in recent months because money has been so tight. We had decided to go out to dinner. My sister showed up just before we were ready to leave so we took her with us. There is this really great Restaurant in Boise, ID called the Lock, Stock, and Barrel. That is where we took her. Shortly after we got seated and ordered, a couple sat a the table next to us. We were facing the table. I knew that the woman was someone that we had graduated with so I asked the waiter when he came to our table to have her look over our direction. She immediatly came over to the table to visit. Her name is Cheryl, we had just seen each other a month and a half ago at our class reunion in Eastern Idaho, so we knew that we knew each other but were unsure of the names. It was alot of fun seeing her. Also just after our visit with her a man that I worked with a few years ago and his wife walked by and stopped to visit. I really had hoped to introduce him to my sister a few years ago then he went and got married. We really enjoyed our time with my sister, we laughed and talked for a couple of hours.

SHANE & KIDS
I am married to the most incredible man that has ever existed. Before marriage I was very unsure of myself, had quite low esteem, and It was very difficult to accept a compliment.
Today I am about 50 pounds over weight but he still loves me and is constantly complimenting me on how I look, is always telling me he loves me, snuggles with me in bed or while on the couch relaxing and watching TV. He holds my hand like we were still teenagers. We are usually together on weekends working in the house, in the yard or doing together what ever activities come along.
He is a great dad that loves his kids, which is really easy to do because they are 3 of the most incredible kids that I have ever met. They have never been kids to get into trouble, none of them drink, smoke or do drugs, and they are respectful to both of us. He always played with them when they were little, he has always been there for them when they needed him, I should say we have alway's been there for them. We have always done alot together as a family.
He has always been fortunate to have a good paying job that provides for us. He spoils me, and the kids. We have known each other since we were just babies. My family lived next door to his aunt and uncle when I was born, and his mom would bring him and his older brothers over to his aunts house to play while they had coffee. We were all of 2 years old and I still remember playing with a bunch of little boys. Little did we know then.
We went all the way thru Jr High and High school together and the only recollection that either of us have is of having any classes together is one time in a Freshman English class, our teacher would let us bring our records on Friday and play them during class. She was a deeply religious lady that wouldn't cuss if her life depended on it. One of the students brought in the album with the song "God Damn the Pusher Man" on it. We got most of the way thru the song before she realized what was being said in the song and she just about had a fit. Needless to say that ended our Friday Music Appreciation Classes! He went into The Air Force right after Graduation and was away from our home town for the next 6 years. When he left he was engaged to one of my best friends. I then watched as she dropped him for another boy, lucky for me, then dropped that one for another one, then got dropped by him, went to another, not sure how many times but she finally got married. Shane got engaged to another girl while in the Air Force, she broke it off the day before they were to be married, Lucky for me again. We got together after he spent 4 years in the military, then another 2 years away from home. We started dating on
December 6, 1980, I got my engagement ring on January 6, 1981, he had to work on February 6, so his brother Jim delivered pink roses to me that evening, and we were married on March 6, 1981.
We have 3 children living Matthew 21, Phillip 19, and Emily 17. I couldn't ask for a more awesome family. Barton our first born was Still born on Dec 23, 1981.

MOM AND DAD'S 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Mom and Dad celebrated their 50th on September 27, 2004. We threw a really nice party for them at the Stanger Memorial building in Iona on the 25th. We really had a nice night. However it all started long before that night. Jul got invitations for the party, Janece made arrangements for maniquins to display mom's wedding dress and us girls dresses. Mom purchased fabric and lace For Table cloths and I took care of table decorations and refreshements. We cussed and discussed this night for a year before it actually happened. On the Tuesday before the big night Shane drove me to Twin Falls and my best friend Nancy and her daughter Laura came and met us so that I could get over to Idaho Falls early. We grabbed something to eat in Twin then drove to Pingree to see Diane Fallis another friend. She has all of the Cake pans etc to do big cakes with so we borrowed pans from her and spent about an hour and a half visiting with her. Nancy, Laura and I spent the rest of the week making cakes, cookies, candies, corsage, and so on. Matthew was able to be available for the weekend so he drove over to Idaho Falls with Emily on Thursday. Shane and Phillip came over on Friday night, then Bill and Lenore some good friends of ours came over on Saturday.
We had the whole family there with the exception of Jarom, Julie's boy that passed away 2 years ago, Barton our son that was still born, and Shaniah James daughter that he gave up for adoption.
